What is Alpha?
Alpha is a safe place to get answers to your questions about Christianity and the meaning of life. In ten 90-minute sessions we cover questions like these: Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus have to die? Who is the Holy Spirit? How can I have faith? Why is there evil in the world? Each Alpha session starts with a meal and getting to know others on a similar journey followed by a topical teaching segment that leads into non-judgmental, open discussion with Q & A. It’s fun, relaxed and free, and you can ask anything you like that’s why over 22.5 million people worldwide have already tried Alpha. **This class is the recommended pre-requisite to A Life Worth Exploring and the Essentials Classes.**
THE ALPHA COURSE: What is Alpha? Alpha is a series of interactive weekly sessions that freely explore the basics of the Christian faith. Alpha begins with a delicious meal, great topical teaching and ends with interactive discussion on a different subject each week. Childcare will be available for each location with advanced notification only.

The Alpha Weekend Away 2017
The Weekend Away is often the most meaningful component of the Alpha Course for Alpha participants around the world. We will retreat to a restful setting on beautiful Lloyd’s Neck to engage with Alpha pioneer Nicky Gumbel's video teaching in a more in-depth context, specifically considering the role of the Holy Spirit and the question of how Alpha could continue to impact our lives after the course. Pastors Steve and Jerry will also offer a Question & Answer seminar for your really tough questions! Please Note: Shelter Rock Church's Alpha team will lead every portion of the event; we are merely using the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception's facilities as a retreat location.
When: Friday, November 3, 6:pm - Saturday, November 4, 5:30pm
