Deuteronomy 7:6

The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.

What does it feel like to be chosen? What does it feel like to be treasured? What are the implications in your life of realizing that you are God’s “treasured possession?”

Knowing how wonderful it is to be considered God’s “treasured possession”, think of a way you can show someone today that you treasure them.

Psalm 139:17-18

7 How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you.

In the stillness, David ponders God and that God is thinking of him.  According to this Psalm, David considers God’s thoughts of him precious.  Why do you think that is?  If God thinks about us a lot, what would you want God to be knowing about you?  David says, “When I awake, I am still with you”, how does that comfort you?

In a quiet moment today, think about how it feels to realize that God knows you.
