Reflections

Reflection, Donna Brady - Church Business Administrator

Last month God gave Dan and me the gift of our first grandchild, born to our daughter Laura and her husband Erik. We are so in love with little William Ezra! This season in my life has also been about preparing to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro with World Vision - to shine a spotlight on vulnerable children who need our help. The contrast between my grandson’s birth into such a Jesus-filled and safe environment makes my eyes water up, in contrast to the “least of these” that God is challenging me to look in the eye. How is it we find reason and cause to look away? Jesus said that what we’ve done for the least of these, that’s what we’ve done to him. Someday I will have to own those moments when I gave myself to the distractions that justify my movement away from needs around me. So, today as we gather here, “Let us therefore consider how to stir up one another to love and good works”! (Heb. 10:24) Amen.

Reflection, Gregg Farah - Campus Pastor

I’ve been challenged the last few years by a two-word command from Jesus in the Bible: make disciples. What does that mean? It’s Jesus’s reminder that our calling as believers is to equip others to follow Jesus in such a way that they can do the same with people they know. I’ve had many people invest in my life, one of whom I called this week to discuss a Bible question. Who is investing in your life? In whose life are you investing? I meet with three others guys every week to work through some disciple-making material. I look forward to it each week and if one of us has to miss it, we do everything possible to change our meeting day and time so no one misses a week. We are committed to one another and to our goal—Jesus’s command—to make disciples. You can do it, too!
