In the last few months we’ve started a new Sunday morning youth class at the Westbury campus. Everyone who attends is anywhere from 7th to 12th grade which is great, because we have a range of different kinds of experiences that these junior and senior highers are facing today. Recently, we’ve been talking about the importance of understanding other religions. We’ve established that not all their peers are necessarily Christians. Middle and high school are definitely places where faith related discussions can become a touchy topic, so we want to ensure that we are equipping the students with knowledge and wisdom that will help them in these discussions. It also helps them become even more grateful for having Jesus in their lives. It's awesome watching SRC's students learn new things not only about Christianity, but other religions as well so they can more easily relate to others when the topic of faith arises with their non-Christian friends.
“Therefore, since we have been justified (acquitted, declared righteous, and given a right standing with God) through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 5:1.
Until I understood how GOD viewed me, I struggled for people’s and GOD’s approval. I worried that I never measure up. Is that how you feel today? If so, meditate on the scriptures and let them remove your doubts. "Through Him we.. become...(acceptable and in right relationship with God” - 2 Corinthians 5:21. Unworthiness, is one of the greatest weapons Satan uses against us so let’s take it out of his hands. God has put a screen between us and himself; it's the BLOOD of Jesus. When he looks at us through that screen he sees you us as righteous and forgiven of all sins. That’s why we call it AMAZING GRACE!
